Jamshedpur: Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi demanded a post-mortem house in Ghatsila and air conditioned mortuaries in Baharagora and Chakulia community health centres.
In a meeting with the Principal Secretary of the state health department Nidhi Khare on Friday, Sarangi said the people of Ghatsila, Baharagora and Chakulia have long been demanding the said facilities. As of now, bodies are sent to MGM Medical College in Jamshedpur for autopsy, he said.
Sarangi discussed various other health issues with Khare. He said the trauma centre in Baharagora is devoid of specialist doctors. Khare told him very soon a decision would be taken on the appointment of doctors at the trauma centre.
Sarangi further raised the issue of shortage of medicines in the various government health centres in Baharagora. He said important and life saving drugs should be made available round the clock at these centres.
