Chaibasa: In a heartbreaking turn of events, the lifeless body of Roya Laguri, a 40-year-old resident of Sikursai Tola in Udajo village under the Jeteya police station of Jagannathpur, was discovered hanging from a tree in a rural forest. The shocking incident unfolded after he had been missing for 20 days.
According to accounts from the local community, Roya Laguri had left his home late in the evening on November 23 and did not return. Concerned villagers informed his family on Monday evening that his body was found hanging from a tree in the nearby forest, secured by a towel. Family members and villagers promptly reached the site, and the police were informed during the night.
On Tuesday morning, the police took custody of Roya Laguri’s body and initiated the necessary procedures. The body was then transported to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Preliminary reports suggest that Roya Laguri took his own life by hanging.
Family members disclosed that Roya had been struggling with mental health issues in recent days. Despite facing challenges, when he was in good mental health, he worked diligently to support his family, which consists of two sons and four daughters.
Following the post-mortem examination, authorities handed over the body to the bereaved family for the final rites.
