Missing Jamshedpur girl’s dead body recovered from near river

Jamshedpur: Anger erupted on the road as the dead body of a missing young woman missing from Adityapur was recovered today. People came down the road and started protesting. This led to the blockage of Adityapur-Kandra road for several hours. The administration used force to control the situation. The body of 16-year-old girl Pooja Gop, resident of Manjhi Tola Sanjay Nagar of Adityapur police station area, was found on the river bank of Bhatia Basti in Adityapur on Saturday afternoon. After recovering the body of Pooja Gop, daughter of Kanhaiya Gop resident of Manjitola, the police sent the body for post mortem without informing the family. When people of Manjitola township came to know about this, they reached the river bank and started protesting.

People were protesting against the attitude of the police. People shouted slogans and blocked the Adityapur-Kandra main road. They blocked the road between Ashiana Building in Adityapur and Adityapur S Type Chowk. They also questioned the police and said that even legally the family should have been informed that the body was found, but without informing them, the police have sent the body for post-mortem. People burnt tires on the road and set them on fire.
