Jamshedpur: A delegation of minority high school teachers of East Singhbhum met the District Education Officer Shivendra Kumar on Tuesday to demand their salary dues for the month of February. They were informed that a requisition letter for allocation of funds had been sent to the director of school education, government of Jharkhand.
The teachers said they had not received the salary of February. They also discussed various other issues with the DEO. The DEO assured them that their salary dues for the month of February would be disbursed as soon as the funds are available. He expressed grief that the salary fund had lapsed on 31st March last.
The DEO further said that a camp would be held for the determination of Seventh Payscale for the minority high school teachers. The date of camp would be fixed after completion of evaluation work for the Matriculation Board exams, he said.
Among those who met the DEO included Dhirendra Kumar, Prabhat Kumar Singh and Pranav Kumar Ghosh.
