Minority scheme reviewed

Ranchi: A review meeting on the Centre-sponsored Minority Scholarship Scheme was held on Thursday by the Jharkhand State Minority Commission.

The Commission chairman Dr Shahid Akhtar presided over the meeting held at Jharkhand State Adivasi Cooperative Development Corporation, Balihar Road, Morabadi.

Members of the Commission expressed displeasure over the rejection of applications by the chairman. They said the applications had been submitted by poor students.

The chairman said the pre-Matriculation scholarship was not given to all students for the financial year 2012-13 as yet. He said the fund should be made available as soon as possible.
