Minor raped by quack in Kuchai, pregnant

Seraikela : A 43 year old village quack, identified as Bishun Singh Sardar, allegedly raped a 12 year old girl in Kuchai police station area some seven and a half month ago. The case came to light here on Sunday when the family members of the victim, who became pregnant after the incident, registered an FIR against the accused.
Sources said the victim�s family members had first contacted the local panchayat officials, but failed to get help. Eventually, the family decided to approach police with the complaint against the quack. The accused is reportedly absconding.
Sources said the Kuchai police sent the victim to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for a medical check-up. The doctor said the victim has a seven and a half month old pregnancy.
The victim reportedly told police the quack had raped her in an inebriated condition in her house when she was all alone. The accused had threatened her of dire consequences in case she complained against him to anyone.
