Seraikela: State tourism minister Amar Kumar Bauri on Wednesday inaugurated Chaitra Parv cum Chhau Mahotsav at Birsa Munda Stadium in Seraikela.
The minister said such events helped preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state. He said the government was planning to make Seraikela a tourism hub by expediting promotions measures for Chhau and other traditional art and craft.
A cultural programme was organized at the festival. Singers Debanjali Biswas, Snigdhajeet Bhoumick and Shahjan Mujib performed on the occasion along with renowned dancer from Odisha, Sharon Loven.
Several stalls have been put up at the Chhau festival venue. Various handicrafts and indigenous items are on display for sale here.
