Jamshedpur : Steel City has turned into Mini Punjab with devotees flocking at Gopal Maidan the venue of Prakash Parv.
On second day of the three-day extravaganza thousands of devotees participated in the event where in jathas (religious group) from Amritsar presented bhajan, kirtan, and other religious activities.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das along with state sports, arts, culture and youth affairs minister Amar Kumar Bauri had officially inaugurate last evening. Das said that the anniversary is being celebrated to spread the message of communal harmony among people from various communities.
He reminded the gathering about the sacrifices made by the Guru for the betterment of mankind.The district administration has set up help desk to provide all possible assistance � be it free medical treatment, transport, food, and drinking water.
Inderjeet Singh, president, Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, stressed upon the pivotal role played by the Sikh community in the progress of the country.
�It is a moment of pride that we are celebrating the 350th year celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh. We owe a lot to the Sikh gurus who devoted their life to the welfare of our country. We must take lessons from their pious life,� he noted.
He said that Guru Gobind Singh was a true son of India who through out his life span fought for the country and sacrificed everything for the country. Before Sachkhand Gaman he proclaimed that “from today onwards Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the Guru and it should be regarded as the embodiment and visible form of all the ten Gurus. From this day Guru Granth Sahib is being worshiped as their only Guru�.
Around 50,000 sq feet hangar (made from steels) has been constructed at the venue for the delegates along with a huge stage of nearly 2,400 sq feet. There are food courts for meals of delegates in nearly 24,000 sq ft area. Sufi singer Kunwar Grewal is scheduled to perform tomorrow.
