Mid-day meal should not be stopped even one day: Mr. Burnwal

Ranchi, Nov. 10: Secretary to the Jharkhand Chief Minister Sunil Kr. Burnwal said that mid-day meal should not be postponed even for one day in government schools.

He said that this duty must be disposed properly with a sense of responsibility.  During this he reviewed 20 complaints & gave necessary order.

Against postponement of mid-day meal in the upgraded middle school from 30th  October at Purni Singho Tol,Dalha , Mr. Burnwal said that mid-day meal should not be stopped even for a day. He said that the children have right over the mid day meal.

He asked the officers why mid day meal was postponed and said to fix responsibility for it.

Abul Ansari  complained that BDO Mr. Arvind Kumar & Rojgar Sevak Mr. Nausad Ansari had given him the work to dig a pond in 2013-14.

The cost of the scheme was Rs. 6,48,000. Rojgar Sevak Mr. Nausad Ansari withdrew Rs. 3,80,000 & gave the beneficiary only Rs. 40,000 while the  beneficiary had invested his money also in the project.

The nodal officer said that the BDO has found the charge baseless. Mr. Burnwal became furious on it saying how can the alleged officer investigate the case. He directed that DC or DDC should investigate this case & submit report to the earliest.

Regarding non-payment of 350 MGNAREGA workers for 24 days, the nodal officer said that the DDC has reported that work has not been completed. Taking the complaint seriously, the secretary said that they have to answer within 24 hours or it will be investigated through MGNAREGA Commissioner & if the DDC’s   report is proved misleading, departmental proceeding will take place against him.

Regarding unrest created at Shahpur by a newly formed gang named Airas comprising 40-50 people at Palamu, the district police officers said that such gang does not exist. It was clear that the chief of the gang Manoj Sharma looted people & tried to hit ex MP Mr. Jorawar Ram on 15th August,2015.

Moreover, compensation against land in Chatra, appointment of aanganbadi sevika in Giridih, death of a worker in a brick factory in Hazaribag, compensation service & house to dependent   after death of a BSF employee, irregularities in distribution of PDS at Lohardaga ration dealer, compensation service to dependent   after death of HEC staff and many other cases were reviewed.

Mr. Burnwal said that the officers will be condemned who will receive three times show cause notice.
