Jamshedpur: An incident of theft occurred at MGM Hospital when a young man, undergoing treatment following a road accident, stole a mobile phone belonging to another patient. The theft was discovered after the victim reported the incident to Home Guard personnel stationed at the hospital.
On reviewing the CCTV footage, the Home Guard personnel apprehended the thief, identified as Vikas Rai. Vikas, hailing from Rohtas, Bihar, confessed to the theft during interrogation. He said that he had been admitted to MGM Hospital for treatment following injuries sustained in a road accident.
During a search, authorities recovered two stolen mobile phones from Vikas. He was subsequently handed over to Sakchi police for further questioning.
Authorities are conducting thorough inquiries into the matter.
