Jamshedpur, Dec 9: Several districts in western , southern and central parts of the state is expected to experience unseasonal rain this weekend. Both IMD’s Ranchi and Patna Meteorological Centres this afternoon issued a bulletin with rain forecast in Jharkhand for three days from Sunday, December 13.
” As per our study Jharkhand will be under the influence of a western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country. The passing western disturbance would also result in formation of a cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand. This would help in formation of clouds and moisture incursion into atmosphere, ” said an official of Ranchi Meteorological Centre. He said that the impact of the western disturbance would be felt from December 11, Thursday.
” The minimum temperatures in several parts of Jharkhand would witness a rise from Thursday due to the effect of the western disturbance passing through north-west India, ” he said.
The Met further predicted that temperature during the night may also take a sharp dip by two to four degrees across the region.
““The cyclonic circulation has also affected the wind pattern. Till last evening, north-westerly winds were dominating over the State, but due to the impact of the cyclonic circulation, the wind pattern changed to easterly, which usually helps raising night temperatures,” explained a senior official of local Met office.
The officials said that department cannot forecast how harsh the winter this year would be. However, the temperature would range between 12 and 22 degrees.
Officials from the Met department said they expected light rainfall to continue till February and the fog to return. According to the weatherman’s prediction, the temperature could oscillate between 9 and 18 degrees Celsius.
