Mental health checkup camp benefits villagers

Jamshedpur, June 6: A legal awareness cum mental health check up and free medication/ counseling camp was organized by the joint effort of district mental health program and Graace India (NGO) on the direction of NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) New Delhi on 6th June at Patamda Block, Bangurda Panchayat Bhawan, Kamalpur.

Psychiatrist Dipak Kumar Giri examined the mentally ill patients and prescribed free medicines, he was supported by his team members, Pawan Kumar Sahu, Smita Hembram and Tajin Kullu. The camp benefited the villagers in large number.

Dr. Jaya Moitra, President of Graace India, explained the importance of mental health and physical fitness while secretary of Graace India spoke on the legal aspects of mental health, the various schemes run by the government and how to avail them.

The paralegal volunteers (PLV) Shiv Shankar Mahato and Nand Rajak put their best efforts to inform the villagers and make the program successful.
