Meeting held to accelerate Jamshedpur affordable housing project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Jamshedpur: In a significant move to expedite the construction of the Birsanagar Affordable Housing Project, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar. The project, a part of the third component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), aims to provide affordable housing to eligible beneficiaries in the city.

Key officials, including Executive Engineer of JUSCO Santosh Kumar Choubey, Jamshedpur NAC Special Officer Arvind Tirkey, and technical experts, were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, instructions were issued to ensure the rapid development of essential infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, roads, and sewerage systems in Birsanagar. Priority will be given to beneficiaries who have already paid the full amount or secured a home loan.

Officials stressed the need to complete the houses at the earliest and initiate the Griha Pravesh (housewarming) process for the beneficiaries. The project’s progress was thoroughly reviewed, and measures were discussed to prevent further delays.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar emphasized the importance of adhering to deadlines, citing the project as a vital initiative under the government’s mission to provide affordable housing for all. “We are committed to ensuring that every eligible beneficiary gets their dream house without unnecessary delays,” he stated.

Special Officer Arvind Tirkey expressed confidence that with the concerted efforts of all stakeholders, the project would be completed soon, bringing relief and joy to the beneficiaries.

The meeting concluded with a resolution to maintain regular reviews of the project to ensure smooth progress and address challenges promptly. The initiative underscores the commitment of local authorities to fulfill the vision of “Housing for All” under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
