Jamshedpur: PIB the prime media cell of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B), in association with the district administration will conduct a media workshop, �Vartalap� at the collectorate auditorium on March 1.
A PIB delegation met Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and informed that the workshop would discuss the media�s role as a social catalyst and its responsibilities. The workshop would also hold detailed discussions on enhancement of media skills and the roadblocks being faced by it in present day situations.
A direct link will be available to journalists working at district and sub divisional levels with PIB officials where observations and experiences will be shared.
The PIB is a nodal agency of I&B ministry which broadcasts and publicizes the policies and programs of the government. That is why it is important to establish relations with the media and further strengthen them.
The one day workshop will focus primarily on the welfare schemes launched by the central government. The difficulties cropping up in the proper implementation of these schemes and the opinions of the journalists on the issue will be taken up for threadbare discussions. High ranking officials of the district administration and the media fraternity would be attending this workshop.
