Jamshedpur, Aug 25: A spirited Matki breaking competition was held at Nehru Ground, Sonari, as part of Krishna Janmashtami celebrations organized by the Nehru Sangh Vikas Samiti.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, with former Zila Parishad Vice President Rajkumar Singh gracing the occasion as chief guest. In his address, he encouraged the participants, saying such cultural programs not only celebrated Sanatan traditions but also inspired the younger generation to stay connected with their roots.

The highlight of this year’s competition was that no individual winner was declared. Instead, the Matki was broken through the collective efforts of all participants, symbolizing unity and teamwork.

The organizing committee, which had been hosting the event for the past 15 years, credited its members Yogesh, Rajkumar, Virat Verma, Bittu, Lalit Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Bala, Suraj, Avinash, Raja, and others for ensuring its success.
