Martyr Albert Ekka’s memorial to be built at Jari

Ranchi, Dec. 3: Jari village in Gumla district was packed with people and top politicians of Jharkhand today. They greeted Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Das today laid the foundation stone for building a memorial of Paramvir Chakra award winner Lance Naik (LCpl) Albert Ekka (1942–71).The memorial is to be called-‘Samarak Samadhi-Sorya Sthal.’

The memorial carrying the soil brought from his graveyard in a village in Agartala where he was buried after he died fighting in the India-Pakistan war (Called Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971)is planned to be implemented by the state government.
