Jamshedpur, Nov 16: In a list issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the Manipal Tata Medical College was not mentioned in the list for reserved candidates. Former parliamentarian and senior Congress leader Dr Ajoy Kumar observed, “Keeping Manipal Tata Medical College out of the reserved candidates’ list is shocking. This is a big blow to the aims and aspirations of the students of Jharkhand who are desirous of taking up the medical profession.”
The senior Congressman said that he would urge the Jharkhand Chief Minister to take up the issue with the Centre on this count as it related to the future of many medical aspirants of the state. It may be mentioned that Dr Ajoy Kumar had played a major and decisive role in the establishment of the Manipal Tata Medical; College in the state.
Dr Ajoy Kumar believes that even BJP leaders would support his plea and be instrumental in getting out a revised list so that Manipal Tata Medical College is enlisted in the reserved category.
