Jamshedpur:Â In a concerted effort to equip future healthcare professionals with essential skills in cardiac care, the Cardiovascular Technology Program within the Department of Allied Health Sciences at Manipal Tata Medical College organized a specialized workshop on Electrocardiogram (ECG). This informative workshop, held on September 15, 2023, served as a significant step toward enhancing the capabilities of Allied Health Sciences students.
The workshop commenced with an official inauguration ceremony, featuring a warm welcome address by  P. Yashwanth Kumar, Head of the Department of Allied Health Sciences. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. G Pradeep Kumar, Dean of Manipal Tata Medical College; Dr. Rajiva Dwivedi, Director of Academic Administration and Quality; Dr. Maheshwar Prasad, Head of Outreach at MTMC & Administrative Head of AHS.
Tina Ralhan, the Program Coordinator for Cardiovascular Technology at MTMC, orchestrated a series of informative and engaging sessions. These sessions were led by renowned experts in the field, including:
Dr. Ajay Agarwal, MBBS, MD, DM, FSCAI, FESE, Senior Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital. Dr. Tapan, MBBS, MD, DNB, from the Department of Cardiology at Tata Main Hospital.
Dr. Krishnananda Nayak, Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Technology at Manipal College of Health Profession, MAHE. Dr. Jyothi Samanth, Assistant Professor in the Selection Grade at the Department of Cardiovascular Technology, Manipal College of Health Profession, MAHE.
These experts provided invaluable insights and guidance on topics ranging from Basic ECG to the interpretation of ECG in arrhythmias.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by  Arjun MS, Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Technology at AHS, MTMC, who also served as the Organizing Secretary. He emphasized the workshop’s pivotal role in empowering future healthcare professionals with essential cardiac care skills.
