Jamshedpur, March 19: Mango Mayor Sudha Gupta has written to the Deputy Commissioner, urging authorities to make all necessary arrangements for the peaceful and successful organization of the upcoming Ram Navami festival in the Mango Municipal Corporation area.
The appeal highlighted key recommendations submitted by local Akhara committees following a meeting held on March 15, 2026, to ensure the festival was conducted safely and efficiently.
Key measures requested:
Security: Deployment of adequate police personnel along procession routes and in sensitive areas, supported by CCTV and drone surveillance.
Cleanliness & sanitation: Special cleaning drives along routes and worship sites, with additional vehicles and staff for waste management.
Power supply: Establishment of a special control room to maintain uninterrupted electricity, temporary lighting along routes, and prompt repair of streetlights.
Drinking water: Availability of water tankers at key points and within Akhara premises for participants.
Traffic & crowd control: Preparation and wide dissemination of a traffic diversion plan, along with designated parking arrangements.
Health & emergency services: Deployment of ambulances, medical teams, and first aid camps at strategic locations.
Fire safety: Fire brigades and quick response teams stationed at sensitive sites.
Administrative coordination: A central control room to coordinate among Municipal Corporation, police, electricity, water, and health departments, with a nodal officer appointed for oversight.
Permissions & vigilance: Clear communication of guidelines and expedited permissions for Akhara committees; deployment of Special Magistrates and peace committee members at Mango Chowk to ensure vigilance.
The Mayor and the Akhara Committees have requested prompt action on these measures to ensure the Ram Navami celebrations in East Singhbhum are conducted in a grand, safe, and peaceful manner. (w/gsd)
