Mango civic body declares vendors list

Jamshedpur, Jan 8: Mango Municipal Corporation has sanctioned a list of 894 sanitized vendors list after a survey by the civic body in a meeting of the town vending committee on Friday at the municipal corporation office in Mango.

According to executive officer of Mango Municipal Corporation, Deepak Sahay, all the 894 sanctioned vendors would be given identity cards and the town vending committee would be issuing the cards to the vendors soon.

During the meeting the problem the vendors were directed to set up their stalls only in dedicated earmarked spaces and not alongside roads, especially between Heera Hotel and Blue Bells Hotel as it causes traffic snarl and congestion and also increases threat of road mishaps with customers parking their vehicle virtually on the road to purchase from the vendors who set up stall encroaching the roads.

The corporation executive officer also threatened of legal action against the vendors if they continue to set up stalls alongside restricted areas of the road.

It was also decided that vendors should keep the vending zone clean and do not litter waste anywhere else than the dustbins. The vendors were also informed that between January 4 and January 22 they would be provided training on digital transactions at the Mango corporation office. Discussion were also held on increasing livelihood of the vendors through Ajeevika scheme of the government.
