Jamshedpur, Feb 15: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav Wednesday demanded withdrawal of the Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Bill 2022 by the state government in the larger interest of the business community, farmers and the citizens in general.

In a statement issued today, Yadav said the proposed Bill would only promote corruption. “Mandi tax laws have been abolished in our neighbouring state of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. This Bill would adversely affect agricultural production, marketing, processing and trade activities in the state. This would also reduce the demand for local agricultural produce. The government revenue would also be affected eventually. Hence the government should immediately do away with this Bill,” he said.
