Man stabs wife’s lover to death in Gua

Chaibasa, Aug 30: One Choubey Lohar, 40, resident of Kalyan Nagar, Azad Basti, Gua, allegedly stabbed his wife’s lover, Ratan Singh Banra, 48, to death at latter’s house late yesterday night.

Sources said Lohar stabbed Banra multiple times when the latter was fast asleep around 1 am. Ratan was critically injured in the sudden attack and he ran to his neighbour’s house before collapsing due to profuse bleeding. In the meantime, Lohar decamped from the scene.

Sources said the deceased worked in the mechanical department of SAIL, Gua. After his wife’s death, Banra reportedly entered into extra-marital relationship with Lohar’s wife. Lohar, who worked in Gujarat, did not come to Jamshedpur for four years. When he returned to the city two days ago, he came to know about his wife’s illicit relationship and decided to kill Banra, police said.

Police said Banra was being taken to Rourkela Hospital when he died. They have registered a case against Lohar and begun search for him.
