Man lynched in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh for duping friend

Ranchi: A 45-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of locals in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh for an alleged fraud of Rs 22,000. The incident occurred on Monday.

The victim, identified as Shamshad Ansari, visited the house of one Jaydhan Mahato on his bike. He approached Mahato with a distressing report that Mahato’s son, Rajkumar Mahato, who is employed as an assistant teacher, had been found in a compromising situation with a woman at school.

Worried about his son, Jaydhan Mahato trusted Shamshad’s word and gave him Rs 22,000 to aid his son. However, when Shamshad left after taking the money, Jaydhan Mahato spoke to his son on phone only to find out that his son was not involved in any such matter. It was then Jaydhan Mahato realised that he had been deceived.

News of the incident quickly spread throughout the community, and locals launched a manhunt for Shamshad and caught him near Sikni Railway bridge, where he was beaten up by the locals.
The police arrived at the scene and rushed Shamshad to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
