Man kills nephew over illicit affair in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: A shocking case of murder has come to light in Birsanagar, where a man allegedly killed his own nephew over an illicit relationship with his wife. Police recovered the body of Krishna Mahato, missing for six days, from the Subarnarekha River near Jaduguda. The accused, identified as Krishna’s uncle Rakesh Mahato, along with his aide Rakesh Murmu, has been arrested. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime.

Investigations revealed that Krishna was abducted on August 12. When he did not return, his family filed a missing person’s report. On August 15, relatives informed police that they suspected Krishna had been kidnapped by his uncle. Later, Krishna’s brother filed another complaint expressing fears that he had been murdered.

Despite being accused, both suspects remained at home until the recovery of the body confirmed the crime. The body was found with hands and legs tied, and a scarf around the neck, suggesting a meticulously planned murder. “The killing was carried out in a manner that left no chance for escape,” said a police official. Both accused are now facing further legal action.
