Mamata Banerjee inaugurates development projects in Jhargram

Jhargram, Feb 29: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated several projects at Jhargram Stadium on Thursday, marking a significant step towards the region’s development. Addressing the audience, Banerjee emphasized the importance of local empowerment and urged residents to stay united against external interference during elections.

Reflecting on the district’s transformation over the past 11 years, Banerjee expressed optimism that Jhargram would now be renowned for its development strides. Highlighting achievements since the district’s formation, she cited the establishment of key institutions like Jhargram Medical College and Hospital, Sadhu Ramchandra Murmu University, and several educational and sports academies.

Banerjee provided updates on government initiatives, including the construction of tribal department offices and distribution of caste certificates and forest rights pattas. She announced measures to address educational needs, housing shortages, and wildlife-related challenges, such as compensations for elephant attacks and employment opportunities in forestry.

Moreover, Banerjee mentioned plans for the establishment of Big Bazaar retail outlets across districts, aiming to enhance local commerce. The Chief Minister assured of continued support and welfare measures for the citizens of West Bengal.
