Jamshedpur, Jan 12: The IT Department of Srinath University organized a Makar Sankranti celebratory programme in the institution’s premises on Thursday, January 12.
In her welcome address, Sangita Mahto spoke on the essence of celebrating Makar Sankranti and the worship of Tusu. Mohit Kumar elucidated on the cultural significance of Makar Sankranti.
Cultural programmes included rendition of traditional Tusu songs were presented by the students of the IT Department. Chancellor of Srinath University Sukhdev Mahato, Founder Shambhu Mahto, Pro Chancellor Gurudev Mahato, Vice – Chancellor Dr Gobind Mahato, Registrar Dr Bhavya Bhushan along with faculty members and all University students were present on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor of Srinath University lauded the students for organizing the Makar Sankranti festivities in an immaculate manner that was both, informative and entertaining. The Pro Chancellor, while sharing his thoughts on Makar Sankranti festival said that this was a festival of joy and happiness that harvests bring in. he was highly appreciative of the programme organized by the students.
Sagar Singh and Ishar Parveen anchored the entire programme while Vishal Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
