Mainya Samman Yojana: Over 5000 applications received in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: CM Mainya Samman Yojana has seen a significant response with about 5000 applications received online through special camps organized across the district. These camps, which commenced on August 3, are being conducted at 24 locations within 231 Panchayats and Municipal Bodies, with a total of 255 camps being held daily.

The initiative aims to provide an honorarium of Rs 1000 per month to women aged between 21 to 50 years who are not beneficiaries of any other pension schemes. This amount is intended to support their nutrition, health, and hygiene needs. The camps are scheduled to continue until August 15, following the directives of the state government.

District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal emphasized the efforts to facilitate the application process for eligible beneficiaries. “We are providing free forms to all eligible individuals. There is no requirement for colored forms; black and white xerox copies of PDF forms are also accepted. Additionally, forms can be downloaded from the official website,” he stated.

The eligibility criteria for the scheme include being a resident of Jharkhand, aged between 21 to 50 years, possessing a single bank account linked to Aadhaar, and having a Voter ID and Aadhaar card. Bank accounts not currently linked to Aadhaar must be linked by December 2024 to continue receiving benefits.

Eligible beneficiaries are primarily those holding specific types of ration cards issued by the Jharkhand state, including: Yellow ration card (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) Pink ration card (Pre-seller Household Card) White ration card (K-Oil ration card) and Green ration card

Certain individuals are excluded from the scheme, including families paying income tax, EPF holders, regular or contractual employees of the Central/State Government or public sector undertakings, those receiving pensions, and beneficiaries of other social security pension schemes by the Women, Child Development, and Social Security Department. Additionally, any family member who is a current or former MP/MLA is ineligible.

Mittal also noted that Anganwadi workers and assistants have been instructed to accept any form of documentation, whether downloaded online or provided physically, to ensure ease of access for applicants. The verification of Aadhaar and photos is mandatory, requiring applicants to be present at the camp sites.

” The scheme’s implementation is overseen by the Block Development Officer in rural areas and by the Zonal Officer in urban areas. Beneficiaries will receive monthly payment notifications on their registered mobile numbers, ensuring transparency and timely updates. The state’s concerted effort through these special camps aims to reach and assist all eligible women, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and empowerment of its citizens,” said an official.
