Mahishasurmardini celebrated at D.B.M.S B.Ed. College Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: D.B.M.S B.Ed. College organized a vibrant Mahishasurmardini celebration today as part of the Navaratri festivities. The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the college’s patron Mrs. Neelkanthan, along with President B. Chandrasekhar, Secretary Sripriya, Co-Secretary Tamil Selvi Balakrishnan, Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita, and Vice Principal Dr. Monica Uppal.

In his inaugural address, President Chandrasekhar emphasized that Durgaotsav symbolizes the victory of good over evil and conveys a message of collectivism, encouraging attendees to embrace the qualities of Rajas, Tamas, and Satvik.

Neelkanthan highlighted the historical significance of women’s power in India, noting that this festival is an excellent opportunity to celebrate that energy. The program began with a Charan Vandana performed by music teacher Mrs. Amrita Chaudhary alongside students Parvinder Singh, Urvashi Ray, and T. Dharna.

The scientific rationale behind Durga Puja was effectively presented by students Diksha, Ankur, and Puja Paul through a PowerPoint presentation. A captivating performance of Mahishasur Mardani was delivered by Antara Sarkar, Tanya Kumari, Sumedha Dutta, and Nitish Kumar Ghosh.

The Dhunuchi dance featured participants Mamoni Namta, Nipu Rani Para, Diya Pramanik, Akansha Kumari, Rani Kumari Lohar, and Savitri Ichchagutu, while Anjali Rana, Bhagyavati, and Muskan showcased a traditional Bengali dance. The Nav Durga dance was performed by Pammi, Meenakshi, Jayanti, Priya, Bhavana, Vineeta, Harshita, Celona, and Manju.

Students Shubhangi, Natasha, Neha, Shailja, and Vandana enchanted the audience with devotional bhajans dedicated to the Mother Goddess, filling the auditorium with a spirit of devotion. The success of the event was attributed to the efforts of college teachers Mrs. Pamela Ghosh Dutta, Dr. Surina Bhullar Singh, Dr. Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mrs. Gayatri Kumari, Mrs. Kanchan Kumari, Mrs. Poonam Kumari, Mrs. Archana Kumari, and Ms. Mousami Dutta.

The entire program was orchestrated by music teacher Mrs. Amrita Chaudhary, with stage decorations handled by Laxmikant, Ankita, and Sanchita. College employees Sudeep Pramanik, Abhijit De, Birendra Pandey, and Julian Anthony contributed significantly to the auditorium’s decoration.
