Maharashtra Diwas celebrated with fervour at Bistupur

Jamshedpur : Maharashtra Diwas was celebrated with pomp and fanfare at the Maharasthra Hitkari Mandal auditorium, Bistupur, on Tuesday.

The programme started with the garlanding of a map of Maharashtra and lighting of the ceremonial lamp. A tribute of silence was paid by the participants to the 109 martyrs of the state who had played important role in the formation of the state of Maharashtra.

On this occasion, young artists of music circle gave a classical dance presentation. The artists of Jamshedpur Music Circle presented Kathak dance under the direction of dance guru Sandeep Bose. Thereafter, Kaustubh Bagchi sang the popular bhajan of late Jagjeet Singh ‘Hey Govind�hey Gopal’. He sang several bhajans.

Popular tabla player of Akashwani Amitabh Sen, flautist Ashok Das and key board player Manas Bhattacharjee gave an enchanting musical rendition on the occasion. Many people attended the event and enjoyed the cultural events till late evening.
