Jamshedpur: It was a goal fest on the second day of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) Football Tournament with Jamshedpur Women�s College (JWC) trouncing Project Girls High School Gamharia 13-0 here at the Armoury Ground on Monday.
It was a one-sided affair from the word go with Suman drawing first blood in the first minute of the match followed by second goal in 3rd minute by Mahak Khan who went on to score four goals in the match. Mahek scored again in the 14th minute, 18th minute and 50th minute. Rajni Kerai scored a hat-trick by scoring goals in the 21st, 38th and 48th minute. Neha Toppo too booted in two goals in the 24th and 27th minutes.
The other goal scorers for JWC were Arti Kumari (11th minute), Smriti Pandey (5th minute) and Laxmi Purty (13th minute). Rajni Soren was declared the player of the work in this high scoring girls category match.
In other matches in the junior Boys Category, Kerala Public School (KPS) continued its winning run by defeating AIWC Academy Excellence 1-0 while St Roberts High School (Parsudih) routed People�s Academy 3-0 at the Sumanth Moolgaonkar Stadium in Telco.
Lakhi Bsked opened the account for St Roberts High School in the 30th minute while Diku Murmu and Goma Soren scored in the 50th and 59th minute to defeat Peoples Academy. Diku Murmu was declared player of the match. Player of the match Sunny Hansda scored the solitary goal for KPS against AIWC Academy Excellence in the 22nd miniyte.
NSSVM Chandil defeated Kadma-base DBMS Career Academy 3-0 in another match at Armoury Ground this afternoon. Ajay Majhi scored first for NSSVM Chandil in the 34th minute followed by Surai Oraon scoring in the 52nd and Suresh Hansda scoring in the 60th minute.
The city leg assumes special significance as the RFYS has tied up with the newly inducted Indian Super League (ISL) team Jamshedpur FC to scout and promote local talent at the grassroots level.
