Jamshedpur, Nov. 27: The die-hard fan of the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit’s Pappu Sardar on Wednesday embarked on a drive to educate voters. In view of Assembly polls, he will spread the message on importance of voting and will educate people to actively participate in elections to exercise their franchise. DC Ravi Shankar Shukla flagged off his vehicle. He also appreciated the initiative taken by Pappu.

Pappu will visit different Assembly areas and motivate voters to participate in voting. He will continue with the drive by December 5.

He said that the people should actively participate to practice their franchise. He noted that the idea is to reaching out to individual houses and urging the residents to exercise their constitutional right by casting their vote in the coming elections.

�The voter awareness campaign hope to distribute handbills to voters, appealing them to compulsorily exercise their franchise, not to accept money for voting, motivate their neighbours, friends and relatives to vote,� said the famous fan.

He urged the voters to cast their vote compulsorily and choose the candidate of their choice who could deliver goods to them and protect the interests of the region and the state.

�Though India called itself the largest democracy in the world, it is money power that has come to play a major role in elections. We need to vote so that the good people and able candidates can win and lead our nation,� said Pappu.

He also coined the slogan ‘Woh 7 December Yaad Rakhen, Matdan Avashya Karen’ (Remember the date and definitely vote) to motivate voters.
Jamshedpur goes to vote on December 7 during the second phase of the five phase Jharkhand Assembly Elections. Counting will be held on December 23.  

Hope Pappu’s effort increases urban voting percentage: DC

Jamshedpur, Nov. 27: East Singhbhum DC Ravi Shankar Shukla on Wednesday flagged off a vehicle to make voters aware about importance of voting. The initiative has been taken by diehard Madhuri Dixit fan Pappu Sardar.

He appreciated the initiative taken by Pappu. Talking the media, DC said, people of the city are getting associated with district administration’s voter awareness drive which is good sign. ‘Pappu Sardar has launched an initiative to make the urban voters aware about exercising their franchisee for which awareness vehicle was flagged off.’

‘We hope that Pappu Sardar’s effort will bore fruit and will increase the voting percentage in Jamshedpur’s urban areas.  Pappu will also inform the people about Booth App,’ added DC.
