Jamshedpur, June 30: The police have detained Moulana Ansar Khan accused in the post-lynching violence in Mangocontinues to abscond from Azadnagar area in Mango.
The police are probing him over his role in attacking on the police and also the Mango thana in the morning of May 20 when over 500 protesters had gathered belligerently on Old Purulia Road in Mango.
It may be mentioned four youths, Sheikh Naim (35) resident of Phulpal, Sheikh Sajju (25), Sheikh Siraj (26) and Sheikh Halim (28), all residents of Haldipokhar, were lynched at Rajnagar while they were going to buy cattle from Haldiopokhar to Rajnagar on May 18.
Notably, after four cattle traders were lynched in Rajnagar in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, the members of Muslim Ekta Manch had given a call for Mango bandh as a mark of protest.
The bandh supporters had resorted to a large-scale violence on the street after forcing the shops and business establishments to remain closed on May 20.
