Loyola�s Muskan Mascharak adjudged best speaker at NHES Jyoti

Jamshedpur, Dec. 5: Team LYRA of Loyola School led by Muskan Mascharak and Swayam Prodipto Mukherjee was crowned the winners of NHES Jyoti an inter-school debate competition organised by Jyoti Club of Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) on Saturday.

The theme for the debate was �The no-detention policy under the RTE Act has had an adverse impact on the education system.� School Jyoti coordinator Br. Ranjit Kerketta S.J. was present as a special guest at the event.

Eight schools of the steel city including Church School, Beldih, Loyola School, Carmel Junior College, St. Mary’s English High School, KPS, Burmamines, Dayanand Public School, Kerala Samajam Model School and hosts Narbheram Hansraj English School participated in the debate.

Each team consisted of two speakers – one speaking for the motion and the other speaking against it. Each speaker was given three minutes to speak and two minutes were allotted for rebuttal.

The speakers delivered thought provoking speeches on the topic. In the rebuttal rounds, pertinent questions were raised and interesting answers were presented.

Team Electra of Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) represented by Ekta Kar and Priyanka Jha were declared the runner-up. Muskan Mascharak of Loyola School was adjudged the best speaker of the competition.
