Carmel Junior wins the title

Jamshedpur, Sep 1: Loyola School hosted its annual fest Azionare on Saturday. Students of Stds 9 to12 from 20 city schools participated in 18 different events both, on and off stage. The fest provided students of the steel city an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents. Azionare, an Italian term meaning �to activate�, aims to provide youngsters a platform where they can showcase their talents apart from academic excellence.

Chief Guest on the occasion was Loyola School Rector Father CL George. Addressing the students, Father George observed, “The students of Jamshedpur have a lot of talent and the way they have been performing in different on stage and off stage events is proof enough of the good quality of education being provided in schools around the city.”

Ten off stage events included Nego-Star, Fitness Freak, Hasya Samrat, Shoe It Up, Stash Style and Show, Block Caricature, Gauntlet, Formulario Mathematico, Baymax, A Biological Triathlon and The Hunt.
Students participated in seven on stage events- – Sketching with Rap, Scientist in Disguise, Thomas Paul Quiz, War of DJs, Veritas, Montage and Natayashastra.

In the Nego-Star event participants indulged in negotiation battle to settle business dealings.� Fitness Freak-students showcased their physical fitness. Hasya Samrat-participants cheered up the audience with humorous compositions. Shoe It Up-Participants brought a pair of plain shoes and transformed it by their artistic skills. Stash Style and Show- Students designed the dress using bio-degradable material. Gauntlet-Participants solved sudoku, puzzles, mathematical problems et al. Formulario Mathematico tested participants’ analytical and mathematical skills.

In Baymax students built their own robotic models using creativity and skills. Natayashastra-Students staged Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kathak, Manipuri etc. Montage- Participants compiled a short movie of 3 minutes using stills, videos and embedded audio track covering the elements of Azionare. Veritas highlighted the speaking skills of the participants though debate. War of DJs saw budding DJs from across schools entertaining the crowd during live battle.�

Carmel Junior College was declared the overall champions of Azionare 2019 winning most of the on and off stage events. Sacred Heart Convent girls were declared the runners-up. Little Flower School won the famous Thomas Paul Science Quiz. The quiz started 30 years back in memory of science teacher of Loyola School Sir Paul Thomas. A Biological Triathlon event was won by Sacred Heart Convent.
