Jamshedpur, Sep 19: Loyola School has been declared the winner of the Inter School Biswadeep Sarkar Memorial Environment Quiz Contest organised by DBMS English School on Monday, September 19. The quiz is held annually in loving memory of DBMS student Biswadeep.
Loyola School scored 530 points to bag the top spot followed by Rajendra Vidyalaya School (150 points). JH Tarapore School bagged the third position with 75 points.
Around 8 schools participated in the preliminary round of which five teams qualified for the finals namely- Loyola School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, JH Tarapore, Motilal Nehru Public School and Narbheram Hansraj English School.
The quiz comprised of five rounds where the children were quizzed on wide array of environmental topics wherein they had to exercise their wits to battle in out for the top spot. It was truly an infotainment quiz which was enjoyed by both the participants and the audience.
The quiz masters for the day were Std 12 students of DBMS English School, as the host school does not participate.
School Principal Rajani Shekhar said, “The school believes in promoting environmental awareness through this quiz and to make everyone aware of the fragility of environment and the importance of its protection. This quiz was open for students of Class VIII, IX and X.”
The quiz was witnessed by the Chairpersons, Lalitha Chandrashekhar, B Chandrashekhar, members of DBMS School Management Committee, Principal Rajani Shekhar and Vice- Principal PK Sahu.
