Loyola School, Jamshedpur hosts Grand Graduation Night 2026, Honours Excellence with Special Awards  

Jamshedpur: Loyola School, Jamshedpur hosted Graduation Night 2026 on Saturday evening, a memorable occasion marking the successful completion of a significant academic journey for its graduating students. The event celebrated new beginnings and honoured outstanding achievements through the conferment of certificates and special awards.

The ceremony commenced with a dignified academic procession led by School President Ojasvini Choubey and Vice-President R. Adhiraj, alongside Chief Guest Fr. Cyril Fernandes and Guest of Honour Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’ Souza. Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Vice-Principals Jayanthi Sheshadri and Vineeta Ekka, faculty members and dignitaries accompanied the graduates as they walked in with pride and anticipation. The traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, coupled with a soulful prayer song, set a reverent and inspiring tone for the evening.

Welcoming the gathering, Rector Fr. Michael T. Raj reiterated Loyola School’s mission of shaping men and women of competence, conscience, compassion and commitment. A special moment of gratitude was observed with the felicitation of Fr. C.R. Prabhu on the completion of 60 years of devoted priesthood, drawing warm applause from the audience. The School President addressed the gathering with reflective and motivating words, while a specially curated video presentation brought alive cherished memories and milestones of the graduating batch.

The highlight of the evening was the distribution of graduation certificates and special awards, recognising students for academic excellence, leadership, discipline, service, and all-round performance. The award ceremony stood as a testament to the students’ perseverance, dedication and holistic growth, evoking a sense of pride among parents and teachers alike.

Adding emotional depth to the programme, a parent representative shared heartfelt reflections on the transformative journey of the students. This was followed by prayers offered by student and teacher representatives, symbolising the strong bond of guidance, mentorship and faith that defines the Loyola ethos.

Addressing the graduates, Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes urged them to pursue excellence with humility and to use their education as a means of positive change in society. Emphasising the Jesuit ideal of Magis, he encouraged students to strive to do more while remaining rooted in strong values.

One of the most poignant moments of the evening was the Passing the Light Ceremony, symbolising the transfer of knowledge, responsibility and legacy from the institution to the graduating students. The glowing flames reflected continuity, unity and the enduring spirit of learning.
