Loyola School hogs limelight on day 1 of ASISC Badminton Championship

Jamshedpur, June 16: Loyola School dominated the proceeding on day 1 of the ASISC Zonal School Badminton Championship 2017 organised by Motilal Nehru Public School at the JRD Sports Complex.

The team from Loyola School won the Junior Girls and Boys (Doubles) event on the opening day of the championship on June 16.

In the Junior Girls (Doubles) – Anushka Parmar and Anisha Mishra from Loyola School defeated Soha Majumdar and Anusha Suresh of Secret heart Convent.

In the Junior Boys (Doubles) – Arhan Parikh and Raghav Kabra from Loyola School beat Sitanshu Vardhan and Nilanjal Sinha of Carmel Junior College.

Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by Ms. Lalita Sareen, renowned educationist Lalita Sareen who was present as the chief guest.

Nearby 150 students and 18 teachers of 19 Jamshedpur schools were present. Ms. Sareen appreciated the keen interest in our youngsters for availing the infrastructure and sports and games facility available at Jamshedpur.

The students selected at this level will participate in the ASISC Regional Badminton Tournament to be held at Ranchi next month. Others who were present on the occasion were members of the School Managing Committee, Principals of local schools including Mrs. Rajani Shekhar of DBMS English School, Mrs. Nandini Shukla of KSMS, Mrs. Swarna Mishra of Dayanand Public School and Mrs. Sunita Sinha of Gulmohar High School.

Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) is hosting ASISC Zonal Inter School Badminton Championship to be held over 2 days 16th and 17th June 2017. This tournament is being supported by Little Flower School.
