Jamshedpur: It was a colorful Saturday at Motilal Nehru Public School. The JYOTI unit of the school organized its annual event Prayas 2018. Prayas, as its name suggests, is an effort to bring together students of all schools in one platform and showcase their talents. JYOTI � Jamshedpur Youth Organization Tomorrow�s India, constantly works for the all-around development of students so that they can grow up to be the worthy denizens and citizen of the world.
This time the world requires a collective effort to eradicate the growing threat to nature for which the UNDP has identified 17 Sustainable development Goals. MNPS has been already working hard to acquire the goals and in continuance of its flagship project the theme for Prayas too was the Sustainable Development Goals.
A total of twenty schools participated together in the on-stage and off-stage events. Various events were designed, keeping in mind, the psychology of growing children. The Show started with a fantastic Fashion Show � Pinjra tod, which was based on Gender Equality.
It was a really thought-provoking performance and students came out of their comfort zones and made the audience realize that men and women are equal and that words like male dominance or chauvinism are an abuse to the contemporary society.
Other on-stage events were Let�snacho� group dance, based on the theme of Climate Action , Eklaga � solo singing, Bindasbol � Extempore (based on Peace and Justice). Simultaneously there were other off-stage events as well like � Change the Script (Script Writing), Cool Lekh (Quotation Painting), Tanaankan(Tattoo Making), Sankramak Memes(Meme making), Uddam ME(Entrepreneurship), ShabdJaal(Crossword), Cutpaste Create(Collage Making), Khinch � A Pic(Photography).
Loyola School students showcased their talent and emerged as the winner of Prayas 2018. Sacred Heart Convent School had to be content with runner-up position.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order), East Singhbhum Subodh Kumar. He gave his hearty blessings to all the participants. Subodh Kumar acknowledged the school for their effortless �effort� in creating awareness amongst all in such an innovative and entertaining manner. He also thanked the school for inviting him as the Chief Guest, as he could be a witness to such mesmerizing performances.
The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Madhumita Ghosh, Principal P.A.T.H, General Secretary Dr. D.P. Shukla (School Managing Committee), Akhilesh Dubey (School Managing Committee), Chetna Kauntia of Ekal Vidyalaya, Principal AshuTiwary and Vice-principal Dr. Ritu Choudhary.
The comperers for the event were: Anshara Jahan, Teesta, Adeeb, Sushmita Jha and Abhishek Tiwary.
General Secretary Dr. D.P Shukla appreciated the efforts of the Jyoti unit of MNPS and also praised the idea of SDG�s, because that would inculcate values in students to conserve nature.
As the name of the event says Prayas � for success, so it is. The Jyoti Unit had put in all their efforts to make this event a grand success, and in the longer run they also tried their bit to spread awareness regarding the growing threat to Nature. �Today�s youth will lead with an example tomorrow, so it is our duty to show them the right path today� says Principal Ashu Tiwary, and so a Token Of Love was given to Supreety Jha, a student reading in Class 8 at MNPS. Furthermore, the donations and participation money which accumulated to around 70,000/- was also presented to Ekal Vidyalaya (A School Adopted by MNPS Jyoti unit), and P.A.T.H
The event was grand as usual; the excitement of students could be understood with the huge number of participation.
