Loyola, Convent School hog limelight at Excelsior 2014

Jamshedpur, Nov 27: The Legal Literacy Club of Carmel Junior College organized EXCELSIOR 2014 a unique inter-school programme based on legal facts, on Thursday, November 27 in the school premises.

Ten schools from across the city participated in the programme which consisted of 2 events ‘Youth Parliament’ and ‘Case Study’. Students from class IX to XII participated in these events.

For ‘Youth Parliament’ the students debated on the topic ‘Cyber crime’ which was judged by A.K.Jha an eminent advocate along with Mrs. Zarine Mody and Shantanu Gupta, Prof. of Economics, XLRI.

The event ‘Case Study’ was judged by eminent advocates Udit Sarkar and Manjari Akhouri along with teacher Jasmine Bugli. Loyola School was adjudged the winner of the Youth Parliament while Sacred Heart Convent and DAV, Bistupur finished second and third respectively.

At the case study event Sacred Heart Convent finished first, DAV, Bistupur was the runners up while St. Mary’s English School walked away with the third prize.

The winners were awarded prizes at the end. The programme was conducted by members of Legal Literacy Club along with the teacher moderators Tr. Jayashri Sengupta, Priti Sarna and Paramjeet Kour.
