Jamshedpur, Nov 25: Senior Citizen Table Tennis meet under Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League concluded today at TT Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The tournament was conducted by the Tata Steel Sports Department and was a grand success with enthusiastic participation from the fraternity.
L N Mitra (74) became champion in both Singles and Doubles event. In Doubles he in pairing with Satwaran Singh (70) defeated Saanjay Datta (58) and Amar Chand( 70 ) . In Singles final, L N Mitra defeated Gokul Kumar ( 65 ) . The third prizes in Singles category was clinched by Sanjay Datta (58).
Participants included Air Vice-Marshal (Rtd) Dr Sudhir Rai and Tripty Roy, Former Chief Ethics Councilor, Tata Steel.
Sandip Das, a national level umpire, Apurba Dasgupta, Coach at TT Centre officiated the tournament.
This Table Tennis event was the third event after successful completion of
Badminton and Yoga under the banner of Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League. The meet was organised under the supervision of Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head Sports (Training Centre & Event Management) with the active support of Dinesh Rakshit, Manager Sports and former national level TT Player, Neelam Kumari and Arvind Prasad.
