Jamshedpur, Nov 2: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, hosted the grand finale of the Let’s Make a Difference (LMAD) – Jamshedpur Youth Conference 2025, marking the conclusion of four days of introspection, dialogue, and self-discovery. The closing day celebrated self-awareness, emotional renewal, and environmental responsibility, drawing more than 750 participants from 17 schools across Jamshedpur.
The event was graced by D. B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President of Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Viral Mazumdar, Chief Director – LMAD; Rajiv Agarwal and Shraddha Agarwal, LMAD Coordinators; Sharat Chandran, Director – KPS Schools; Shanta Vaidyanathan, Founder Principal; Lakshmi R., Academic Director; and Alamelu Ravishankar, Headmistress – KPS Kadma.
The four-day youth conference, conducted by Viral Mazumdar and his team from Panchgani, offered a much-needed break from the digital distractions of modern life. Through reflective sessions, “Quiet Time,” and interactive workshops, students were encouraged to explore emotional intelligence, rebuild relationships, and strengthen their sense of purpose.
This year’s LMAD held special significance as it marked the Silver Jubilee of the LMAD–KPS collaboration, celebrating 25 years of guiding young minds towards inner growth and ethical leadership. The partnership between KPS Trust and LMAD has become a model of value-based education in Jamshedpur, blending academics with character-building.
Reflecting on the journey, Sharat Chandran said, “The KPS Trust has conducted this youth conference every year, not just for our students but for all young people of Jamshedpur. The goal has always been to build resilience, reflection, and readiness for the challenges of the future.”
The LMAD journey at KPS began in 2000 under the name Savera, a residential camp that trained 50 students annually until 2012. Over time, it evolved into a large-scale youth movement, now reaching thousands of students. Despite its growth, LMAD has retained its focus on inner change through the simple practice of silence, honesty, and service.
Mazumdar summed up the essence of LMAD in his address: “Every generation faces distractions. Real strength lies not in silencing the world but in mastering one’s own mind. True change begins when we pause, listen, and act with awareness.”
Inspired by Initiatives of Change (IofC), LMAD continues to promote values of integrity, empathy, and self-leadership. As the Silver Jubilee edition concluded, participants left with a renewed commitment to lead lives rooted in reflection, sincerity, and service — carrying forward the timeless message that true change begins within.
