District and police administrations salute martyrs on Shahid Divas

Jamshedpur, Jan 30: The Deputy Commissioner along with other district officials paid obeisance to the Father of the Nation by offering floral tributes in front of his portrait at the district collectorate auditorium on the occasion of the Mahatma’s death anniversary.
The SSP, City SP, other police officials and jawans observed two minutes’ silence in respect towards the freedom fighters who had laid down their lives to break the country free of the shackles of British imperialism.
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District magistrate, DDC and other district officials observed two minutes’ silence in tribute to martyrs who fought the freedom of the Motherland. DC Suraj Kumar stated on the occasion that the entire nation bowed its head in honour of the brave martyrs of the freedom movement who gave up everything including their precious lives to attain freedom of the country and country people.
While paying tribute to the Mahatma, the DC observed, “Bapu believed that the country could be self dependent only if the rural climes attained the aroma of self dependence. He had stressed that the soul of India lay in her villages. Development of the rural sector is a must for the development of the nation and become self reliant.”
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate mentioned that in keeping with Mahatma Gandhi’s guidelines, the central and state governments and the district administrations were ensuring that development programmes from the block, panchayat to the most farfetched village levels were being initiated. “We are committed to wringing in development starting from the remotest villages to see to the realization of the Mahatma’s dream of developed villages leading to developed and self dependent India. We are also indebted to the freedom fighters who enabled us to breathe the air of freedom and free India.”
DC-cum-DM Suraj Kumar had a word of cheer for farmers when he said, “The news of relief for farmers is that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has initiated the process of loan waiver for them and on his advise, the process will continue on ‘mission mode.’”
In a similar programme organized at the SSP’s office, Dr M Tamil Vanan while paying tributes to freedom fighters observed, “We will be paying our true respect to Mahatma Gandhi and our other freedom fighters by imbibing their spirit and developing an India of their dreams by dint of selfless and dedicated work.”
Similar programmes were organized at all Block offices in the district where BDOs, Cos, other officials and employees paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and the freedom fighters. Two minutes’ silence as a mark of respect to the freedom fighters was observed in every district office.
