Jamshedpur, July 5: Little Flower School, Telco, celebrated a momentous occasion as the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny marked 50 years of dedicated service, holistic education, and community outreach. The Golden Jubilee commemorated the transformative journey of the Cluny Sisters, who have been nurturing generations with love, knowledge, and spiritual guidance since 1975.

The celebration honoured the legacy of the pioneering trio—Sr. Cecilia Kenny, Sr. Andrea D’Cruz, and Sr. Marie Cecilia Shen—who laid the foundation for a mission that has touched countless lives. It was a moment of special joy to have Sr. Marie Cecilia travel from Kalimpong to be part of the event.

Gratitude was expressed towards the Tata Motors management, especially Tata Cummins and Tata Power, for their unwavering financial and technical support over the years, which had significantly contributed to the school’s growth and success.

The event reflected on the visionary leadership of past and present Principals. Sr. Helena Egan, who served nearly 30 years, was instrumental in expanding infrastructure and academic offerings, including the introduction of +2 classes and advanced science laboratories. Sr. Savio, remembered for establishing Cluny Preparatory School, played a key role in strengthening foundational education. Current Principal and Superior, Sr. Hilda D’Souza, continues to lead the school into the future with innovation and purpose, advancing NEP 2020 reforms, digital learning, and AI-integrated education.

The school stands as a symbol of excellence, featuring state-of-the-art facilities such as a modern AI Lab, Cummins Library, Timken Hall, and a fully equipped auditorium. Sports infrastructure and creative learning spaces further reflect the Cluny vision of all-round development.

The Golden Jubilee was graced by Rt. Rev. Telesphore Bilung SVD, Bishop of Jamshedpur Diocese, Sr. Sylvia (Provincial), Sr. Marie Cecilia, Cluny Sisters from Kolkata and Jharkhand, as well as alumni, benefactors, teachers, parents, and well-wishers.

Speaking on the occasion, Sr. Hilda D’Souza encapsulated the spirit of the Cluny mission. She observed, “To serve with love, to educate with care, and to uplift with hope — this has been our mission for 50 years, and it will continue to be our promise.”

With hearts full of gratitude and eyes set on the future, the Cluny Sisters reaffirmed their commitment to shaping compassionate, capable, and socially responsible citizens for the next 50 years and beyond. (w/gsd)
