Ranchi, July 8: Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba directed the Urban Development Department & Drinking Water & Sanitation Department to give the responsibility of water and solid waste management of towns like Sahebganj & Rajmahal to professional institutions.
They should dispose this work under socio-professional duty. The Chief Secretary was taking a review meeting of consolidated work plan of the Ganges� rejuvenation under �Namami Gange� program in his office.
While reviewing the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA), the Chief Secretary said that apart from solid and waste water materials at these places, ghats & river-fronts should be made on the Ganges.
He also directed to build improved crematoria, public toilets & change rooms, promenade & lighting.
CS said that individual household latrines, community toilets & solid & liquid waste materials are the major components of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
So departments should coordinate & do the work. In the meeting, Drinking Water & Sanitation Department Secretary, A.P. Singh informed the Chief Secretary that 5 thousand 151 toilets have been built by now.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary, Water & Sanitation Department, Sukhdev Singh, Drinking Water & Sanitation Department Secretary, A P Singh & Urban Development Department Secretary Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh were present.
