Jamshedpur, April 8: A tragic incident was reported near Dimna Lake under MGM police station limits, where an unidentified youth lost his life after being struck by lightning.
According to reports, the youth was sitting under a tree when the weather suddenly deteriorated. Amid strong thunder and lightning, a bolt struck the tree directly, leaving him severely burnt. He died on the spot due to the impact.
Local residents and police rushed to the scene soon after receiving information. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established, and police are questioning nearby people to gather clues.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid open areas and taking shelter under trees during adverse weather conditions, citing serious risks from lightning strikes.
