Jamshedpur, Nov 16: As the capital city of Jharkhand, Ranchi, experiences a chilling cold, the weather forecast suggests the likelihood of light rain in select districts. According to meteorologists, this rain is attributed to the formation of a low-pressure area near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which could potentially transform into a cyclone by November 16.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand from the Ranchi Meteorological Center explained that the impact of this weather phenomenon will be felt along the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, with potential movements observed in the Bay of Bengal. The combined effect of these factors is expected to result in rain in certain districts of Jharkhand, while other districts may experience a partly cloudy sky.
The districts anticipated to receive rainfall between November 16-18 include Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamtara, West and East Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan, Ranchi, and Khunti. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand noted that these districts could experience light rain, causing a drop of 3-4 degrees in the maximum day temperature and an increase of 3-4 degrees in the minimum temperature. Consequently, both day and night temperatures are expected to rise, minimizing the temperature difference.
Highlighting the potential impact of rain, Anand mentioned that cold winds may accompany the precipitation, intensifying the feeling of chilliness. During this period, it is advisable for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly to take precautions against the cold weather, even in the afternoon.
In terms of the lowest minimum temperatures recorded in the last 24 hours, Chatra recorded 12.2 degrees, Dhanbad 13.4 degrees, Bokaro 16.1 degrees, Jamtara 15.5 degrees, Khunti 13.7 degrees, Gumla 13.1 degrees, Hazaribagh 13.8 degrees, Giridih 16.5 degrees, Godda 16.5 degrees, Latehar 13.3 degrees, Ramgarh 14.3 degrees, West Singhbhum 13.8 degrees, Ranchi 14.2 degrees, and Jamshedpur recorded 17.8 degrees.
