Lift-and-loot gang members nabbed in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 11: Telco police has nabbed six members of a gang including a young girl which indulged in looting after requesting lift from commuters from near Kasidih in Sakchi. 
The gang members had indulged in two loot incidents all under Telco thana and used to target people in this locality. 
According to police, the gang members used to stand near the roundabouts and used to seek lift from bikes and cars and on the way threaten the driver with knife and pistol and threaten them of dire consequences if they raise an alarm. They then snatch away their mobile, purse and then take them to the nearest ATM and threaten them to take out money from ATM. The member of the gang who used to take lift used to be followed by other members on bike. 
After committing the crime they used to escape on the bike. They used to commit the crimes mainly in Nildih, Tar Company Mode and Sunday Market area. 
Incidentally, this is the first such gang which used to take lift and then loot riders at the point of gun and knives in the city. 
When the police raided their hideouts in a residence in Kasidih the gang members were taking drugs and indulging in party. The young girl from Burmamines who was also present at the spot said that she was attending the birthday party of her lover.
