Jamshedpur: A legal awareness camp was organized in Banchkuchiya panchayat of Patamada under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority, Jamshedpur, on Wednesday.
It was held at the local middle school. A mobile van was taken to the village to create awareness among the people on their legal rights and duties.
Judicial Magistrate Sonam Bishnoi, Mariam Hembram and mediator B Kameshwari informed the villagers about a number of laws against various social evils including domestic violence, child labour, child marriage, dowry system, witch killing and atrocities against women, children and tribal people.
DLSA members appealed to the villagers to approach them to get free legal aid. Paralegal volunteers Shiv Shankar Mahato and Nanda Rajak were also present on the occasion.
