Jamshedpur: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur, organized a mental health-cum-legal awareness camp at Bangurda Middle School under Bodam block on Wednesday. City-based psychiatrist Dr Deepak Giri informed the villagers about various mental illnesses, their symptoms and treatment method. He said those affected by any mental illness should go to MGM Hospital for treatment. After the health camp, advocates and paralegal volunteers informed the villagers about their legal rights and duties. The villagers were made aware about various social evils such as witch killings, child marriage, child labour, domestic violence, dowry killings and many kinds of superstitions. The DLSA authorities appealed to the villagers to visit the DLSA office to seek free legal aid. The programme was conducted by Nitai Chandra Gorai. Among others present on the occasion included Nanda Rajak, Shiv Shankar Mahato, Vishwanath Gorai, Vishnupado Mohanty, Reena Toppo, Phulmuni Kachhap, Sushmita Khan and Manmath Singh.
