Legal action demanded against Gau Raksha Samiti members

Jamshedpur, July 9: A delegation of the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee led by its president Vijay Khan met Dalbhum SDO Suraj Kumar on Saturday and urged him to take legal action against the members of the Gau Raksha Samiti accusing of throwing and damaging the fruits of some vendors near the MGM Medical College Hospital on Friday evening.

The Congressmen demanded cancellation of cow slaughter license�in Jharkhand and all over the country. On his part, the SDO assured to take action and act on the issues.

The delegation included L B Singh, P N Jha, Akhilesh Yadav, Jyoti Yadav, Shafi Ahmed Khan, Ajay Mishra, Brijendra Tiwary, Sanjay Singh Azad, Prince Singh, Arun Singh, Jayprakash Sharma, Rajnish Singh, Aparna Guha, Laddu Pandey, Sanjay Ghosh, Abdul Halim Ansari, Md. Shabeer Lal Babu, Reeta Gupta, Shahid Akhtar, Anant Lal and others.

Later, talking to the media, Vijay Khan said, from the day BJP government came into power, beef export has increased and the price has also gone up. This is a very serious issue for a country like India. He further said, �We all consider cow as our mother and several Muslims also rear cows and are involved in milk production in big numbers.�

The Congress leader advised the samiti members that instead of creating panic, they should look after several cows in the district and town that are sick and old and remain in unclaimed condition.

Samiti members should refrain from taking law in their hands and if they see any illegal work done they should inform the police and congress party will always be there to support them, added Khan.
